Susan A. Meisel is Senior Vice President, Corporate Counsel for Sony Music Entertainment where she is oversees corporate transactions and legal policy worldwide at the Sony Music corporate and divisional levels. As Corporate Counsel, Susan is responsible for acquisitions, joint ventures and other investments; corporate governance; oversight of SME subsidiaries; commercial contract matters, and trademark management. She has a broad and extensive experience in the media, entertainment and digital space, with transactions ranging from minority investments in start up companies to multi $100M acquisitions.
Susan began her legal career as a corporate associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. After leaving Simpson Thacher, Susan briefly worked at Sony’s Electronic Publishing Division and then became Vice President, Law and Business Affairs, General Counsel, for Viacom New Media. She has also served as General Counsel, Director of Legal Services, for the Institute of International Education; Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Village Voice Media; and Vice President and Counsel, Credit Suisse.
Susan graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1986, and Georgetown University in 1981. Susan is a member of the Board of Directors of Women’s Link Worldwide.
